Christiane Erharter
«Born in Flames»

-

Lizzy Borden’s 1983 underground film classic, «Born In Flames,» draws up a radical, feminist utopia: women of different origins and identities form a revolutionary alliance, declaring a counter-attack on white, male domination. «We are born in flames, we broke the hidden tyranny!» Gender and revolt are also the themes that Christiane Erharter's queer-feminist sound lecture deals with: Here the gender relations in pop are not mere footnotes in music history; instead they form the point of departure for a new feminist form of narration that heavily rocks the archives of popular culture.
